Judith came to me in January 2004. In April 2002 Judith was involved in a near-fatal automobile accident caused by a drunk driver. Her spine was badly damaged and she sustained several vertebral fractures and nerve damage in her left leg. She had gone through extensive rehabilitation, massage and chiropractic treatment until the time we met and began therapeutic exercise for her back. As with most situations that involve actual degenerative or structural damage in the spine, I stated that we could attempt a “trial and error” approach using spinal segmental stabilization/core exercises and functional training to see if they might at least help relieve the pain to a degree and improve her quality of life. Over the months of exercise training with me we have seen a marked improvement in Judith and in her disposition and attitude toward her situation. Although the damage sustained to her spine may be irreparable, her quality of life has improved a great deal.
In Judith’s own words:
“Core training for my back that David Petersen has been doing with me has made such an improvement that it has even amazed my neurosurgeon and neurologist.”
“David has done in six months what 2 ˝ years of chiropractic treatment was unable to do. I am doing things that I have been unable to do for almost three years”.
